The Continental League has made it official --
José Gonzáles is the winner of the Rookie of the Month award.
During August the
Leduc first baseman was outstanding with a .348 batting average, 8 home runs and 23 RBIs.
Gonzáles also had 4 walks and posted a .373 on-base percentage.
This year
Gonzáles has socked 148 hits in 551 at-bats for a .269 average with 29 home runs. He is getting on base at a .302 pace and his totals also include 95 RBIs and 70 runs scored.
RL Picks Rookie of the Month

The Republic League made the official announcement today. The Rookie of the Month trophy went to
Justin Buckley of
Ann Arbor. He was singled out as the premier rookie in August.
Last month the 23-year-old Winged Lingerines center fielder played in 27 games and hit .313 with 4 doubles, no triples and 7 home runs.
Buckley also scored 18 times and drove in 18 runs.
In this current campaign
Buckley is hitting at a .250 clip with 20 home runs and 64 RBIs.
