Let’s start the 2016 NFL Season
Week 1 – We begin by hosting division rivals the Titans. We use this as a chance to begin the season right and easily win 34-10. Marqise Lee was MVP with 6 grabs, 168 yards, and 3 scores. Bortles was 18 of 25 for 245 and 3:1, and Murray was 17 carries, 148 yards, and a score. CB Patrick Robinson grabbed a pick, OG Satre rocked 4 KRB.
We do have one injury of note. OC Pearson is doubtful with a pulled groin, and I bench him for a while.
Week 2 – We travel to Detroit to face the Lions this week. We thump them 44-24. Bortles, Game MVP and NFL Offensive Player of the Week, was 31 for 38, 423, and 4:0. He nailed Murray, Lee, and Gerhart twice for score,s and Murray added a 5th on the ground. Blackmon had 126 yards on 8 grabs. Meanwhile new signee Kareem Jackson grabbed a Stafford pick and OG Satre and FB Will Johnson each had 3 KRB. Shoot, CB McCray had 4 special teams tackles even. Guy was a force.
Week 3 – We fly over to Cleveland for a game against the Browns this week. We lose 27-21. They held us to little ground offense, and we were forced to throw too much -= Bortles was 30of 49 for 313 and 2:2. Murray and Blackmon netted scores and OLB Telvin Smith a pick. OT Luke Joeckel is out for a week with a concussion.
Week 4 – We host the hapless Raiders and send them home at the tail end of a 37-10 loss. Bortles, MVP, is 26 of 29 for 297 and 2:0 and Marqise Lee catches 11 for 131 and a score and Blackmon the other. Murray was banged up a bit and Gerhart grabbed 2 on the ground and 16 carries for 57 yards part way through. Murray finishes probable for next week with a twisted ankle, and we’ll rock him. CB Kareem Jackson grabbed another pick, and Satre and C Fitzgerald each grabbed a trifecta of KRB.
We finish the first quarter and very strong 3-1, with all three of our victories just blasting our foes by 20 or more points. That’s just nasty. Is this the beginning of the Jag-ernaut?
