Mercer took care of business, shooting 51% and never trailed once the entire game. Gonzaga needed 22 points from Elias Harris to survive.

Mercer led by 9 with 10 minutes to go but couldn't hang on to pull the upset, as Elias Harris saved the Zags again, hitting a lay-up with 1 second left. Mercer's 3/4 court heave fell well short. Andre Malone had 21 points as Rhode Island gets a big win against IPFW.
