Group 6

Week 10

Miami- 63, Wright St.- 59
Northeastern- 77, New Orleans- 71
N. Florida- 71, Brown- 66

There were some tense moments in all 3 games this week, but as far as seeding purposes, the teams that needed to win did win.

Here are the Final Group 6 Standings:

#1 Miami 9-1 (+107)
#2 Northeastern 7-3 (+46)
#3 N. Florida 6-4 (+9)
#4 Wright St. 4-6 (-3)
#5 Brown 3-7 (-49)
#6 New Orleans 1-9 (-110)

The one blemish was that loss to Northeastern, otherwise we could be talking about Miami for a top 10 seed in the round of 128. But like Indiana, that one loss could make a 10 to 15 seed difference in the seedings for the next round. Northeastern also hurt their seed with 2 straight losses late in group play. I'd expect them to be in the 80 to 90 seed range. And N. Florida, with those 2 wins against Wright St., takes third in the group and sets themselves up for a good wildcard possibility. At least with a 6-4 record, you gotta think they have a chance, although if there is a heap of 6-4teams battling for a wildcard spot, that +9 point differential could be a negative factor. Wright St., well we've already covered why they will no longer be playing in this tournament.. the 2 losses to N. Florida. Brown wasn't terrible, neither was New Orleans. But alas, both of them are heading home
