36 games on the schedule this week, including 1 feature game. We'll start there:

12/3/28- Stanford (Benito Sanchez) @ #10 UCLA (Tim Shepard) -- Free throws kept Stanford in this game, as they made almost double the amount of free throws as field goals. Unfortunately, they only made 13 field goals, with 9 of them being three pointers. They shot 29.5% for the game and couldn't recover as UCLA gets the win.

Final Score: #10 UCLA- 72, Stanford- 59

Now to the rest of the weekly recap:

North Carolina (Ariel Pryde) -- 12-9, 4-6 ACC.

2/5/28 vs. Boston College (W 92-61).

Just 1 game this week for the Tar Heels, but it was a very impressive victory over a decent BC team.

Notre Dame (Al Mighty) -- 10-13, 3-8 ACC.

2/2/28 vs. Miami (FL) (W 85-69).
2/5/28 at Virginia Tech (L 70-67).

Solid week for the Fighting Irish, who had a strong win over Miami and played very tough in a hard fought loss against the 2nd place team in the ACC.

North Florida (Felix Abel) -- 12-11, 5-3 Atlantic Sun.

1/31/28 vs. Army (L 88-81).
2/5/28 vs. USC Upstate (L 89-67).

It was a week to forget for the Ospreys, who lost both games, including a blowout conference loss.

TCU (Bee Mighty) -- 7-14, 1-9 Big 12.

2/3/28 vs. Loyola Chicago (L 80-77).
2/5/28 vs. #21 Texas (L 116-95).

The Horned Frogs missed a golden opportunity for a solid non-conference win, as they blew a 9 point halftime lead in a loss to a 16 win Loyola team. Then, they forgot how to play defense in a blowout loss to Texas. At this rate, Coach Mighty will be lucky to make it through the season.

#18 St. John's (Dean Hoo) -- 16-6, 7-4 Big East.

2/2/28 at DePaul (W 85-53).
2/5/28 at Georgetown (L 76-75).

A road split this week for the Red Storm as they lose ground in the conference race. A good effort against Georgetown, but just a little short.

Northwestern (Ess Vee) -- 13-9, 4-6 Big Ten.

2/2/28 vs. #1 Wisconsin (L 77-63).
2/5/28 at Nebraska (W 83-63).

A split this week for the Wildcats, both of the double digit variety. They were hoping for a little better showing against Wisconsin, but no dice.

#19 Ohio State (Brett Hawkins) -- 17-5, 6-4 Big Ten.

2/2/28 at Maryland (W 93-85).
2/5/28 vs. #3 Minnesota (W 74-61).

Huge week for the Buckeyes as they get a big top 5 win, something that will be crucial come Selection Sunday.

Wichita State (David Ginsberg) -- 16-6, 9-4 MVC.

2/2/28 at Illinois State (L 79-73).
2/5/28 at Drake (W 51-40).

The Shockers see their 8 game win streak end at the hands of Illinois State (I really hate the Redbirds), but start a new win streak. They only have 1 more game against a team over .500 so it should be smooth sailing now.

San Jose State (Thomas Shepard) -- 13-9, 6-5 Mountain West.

2/2/28 at Utah State (W 70-68).
2/5/28 vs. Colorado State (W 60-52).

The Spartans are rolling! They've won 5 in a row, and are now over .500 in MWC play. That 1-5 start in conference is long gone.

Bryant (Rob Nielsen) -- 10-14, 4-9 Northeast.

2/3/28 vs. Fairleigh Dickinson (W 69-49).
2/5/28 vs. Sacred Heart (L 99-82).

A split for the Bulldogs, as Coach Nielsen continues to struggle at his new job. Hopefully he can right the ship soon.

Wagner (Will Brown) -- 15-8, 7-5 Northeast.

2/3/28 at Robert Morris (W 81-73).
2/5/28 at Central Connecticut (L 68-60).

A split for the Seahawks, but what they really need at this point is a nice winning streak. Playing in a small conference, they need all the wins they can get.

Stanford (Benito Sanchez) -- 13-9, 4-6 Pac 12.

2/3/28 at #10 UCLA- feature game, highlighted above.
2/5/28 at Washington (W 75-65).

A split for the Cardinal, who continue to struggle a bit this season. They still aren't shooting the ball very well.

#10 UCLA (Tim Shepard) -- 17-5, 8-2 Pac 12.

2/3/28 vs. Stanford- feature game, highlighted above.
2/5/28 vs. Colorado (L 64-54).

A bit ironic that the Bruins lose to Colorado after Coach Nielsen is fired from there. They have lost 2 of their last 4, but remain in the hunt for a conference title.

Washington State (DeShawn St. John) -- 8-14, 2-8 Pac 12.

2/3/28 vs. Washington (W 69-68).
2/5/28 vs. #25 Arizona (W 52-50).

The losing streak is over! The Cougars end their 8 game conference losing streak with 2 big wins, including a win over ranked Arizona! We knew it was only a matter of time, now the question is can they keep it going?

Alabama (Roy Rogers) -- 12-10, 4-6 SEC.

2/2/28 at Arkansas (L 70-59).
2/5/28 vs. South Carolina (L 68-59).

2 more losses for the Crimson Tide, who are in serious jeopardy of missing the NCAA Tournament. Things need to turn around, in a hurry.

Alabama State (Randolph Childress) -- 6-16, 5-6 SWAC.

1/31/28 at Jackson State (L 77-75, OT).
2/5/28 at Grambling State (L 86-73).

2 more losses for the Hornets, both on the road. They've now lost 4 in a row and 6 of 7.

Arkansas Pine Bluff (B.B. Gunn) -- 8-14, 6-5 SWAC.

1/31/28 vs. Texas Southern (W 96-65).
2/5/28 vs. Prairie View A&M (W 71-61).

Big week for the Golden Lions who are back over .500 in conference play after a couple solid victories.

Troy (Benton Gale) -- 14-10, 9-5 Sun Belt.

1/31/28 vs. Tennessee State (W 68-59).
2/5/28 vs. Appalachian State (W 88-86, OT).

Solid week for the Trojans, who get both a non-conference and a conference win as they try to make a late run for the NCAA Tournament.

San Diego (Charlie Shocker) -- 13-12, 6-7 WCC.

2/3/28 vs. USC (L 65-62).
2/5/28 vs. Portland (W 102-72).

A split for the Toreros who are still trying to find their way in conference play, but did break a 3 game losing streak with the win over Portland.

And now it's time to reveal the first Bubble Watch for the 2027-2028 season. Remember, this is only for the NCAA Tournament, not the whole postseason. I will only list the Locks and the teams projected In. If you don't see your team, that means they are projected out.

Locks: St. John's, Ohio State, UCLA
In: Wichita State

Hopefully within a couple years there will be a major improvement in this.
