Its pointed out that we haven't scored in a few matches in league play during our postgame press conference, our last 3 league matches have ended in a 0-0 tie.

Loaner

BSS Side Lewes came asking about Striker Anson Cousins. Cousins is a kid I like a lot but he's just not up to the level of Harsanyi, Subotic, Pablo, etc. I'm happy to give him a chance to play somewhere.

World Cup Draw

Group A: Paraguay, Italy, Germany, South Korea
Group B: Australia, Cameroon, Serbia, Colombia
Group C: Bahrain, Uruguay, Portugal, Croatia
Group D: Slovenia, Chile, South Africa, Spain
Group E: Mexico, Greece, Iraq, Brazil
Group F: Holland, France, Canada, Ivory Coast
Group G: USA, Czech Republic, Ghana, Argentina
Group H: England, Switzerland, Nigeria, Iran

Group A and Group G are nightmarish. Good luck to the US getting anything done there, some revenge againast Ghana would be nice.

December 7th, 2013

Woking (7-7-5, 10th) @ Chesterfield(7-5-7, 12th)

Chesterfield are 4:7 favorites here, we're just 4:1, with a 5:2 shot at picking up one point. This is our first meeting against Chesterfield. They're led by Ryan Blackwell who has 9 goals on the season, tied for 5th in the league at this point.

I make a few lineup changes to account for the fact that we play a ton of matches in December and are going to have constant fatigue issues.

GK: Lynch
D: Nikolaou/Williams/Thomas/Ogogo
MC: Upson/Pulis
AM: Clapham/Downes
ST: Pablo/Subotic

Chesterfield runs a 4-2-1-2-1 formation that we have not seen much of with two DMC, a MC, Attacking mids out wide and then of course their striker.

We open defensive.

15': We lose possession on our side of midfield, Chesterfield with a great pass ahead that looks to generate a clear cut look, but Thomas makes a great tackle before anything bad can happen. Chesterfield is controlling the ball though, they pass it around forever in their end when a highlight comes up.

31': Chesterfield midfielder with a brialliant pass to the right side of the arae, a hard shot is blocked by Lynch! Nikolaou is there to clear the rebound. That's the first clear cut chance for either side, we got lucky.

36': Yellow card for a Chesterfield midfielder.

HALF: A dull one so far. Chesterfield manages only two shots, one of them the scary one I mentioned above. We get 4 shots, one of them is a weak header on target, the rest aren't close. Possession is even at 51/49, which is good for us, early in the half Chesterfield was looking to dominate time with the ball. One thing I notice is we are dominant in the air today winning 74% of our headers, to only 39% from Chesterfield. Downes has been a bit of a non factor with a 6.0 rating. Everyone else is in a respectable 6.6-6.8 range.

49': After a little back and forth in the middle Downes receveis a pass and sprints down the side, a cross is blocked back for a corner. Corner comes to nothing though.

53': Chesterfield earn a corner the same way, a cross down the rigth side is blocked behind. We head the corner attempt behind for a second one... second one is headed away to the sideline for a throwin. Finally we clear after a bad throw.

60': We fail to clear a deep throwin and they get a hard shot from the edge of the box... Lynch with the nice save.

61': We counter quickly and Clapham delivers a solid cross, Subotic gets his head to it but its saved easily.

62': Pulis in for Upson, Sole in for Pablo, both fatigue related.

67': midfielder Rees for Chestefield trips one of our guys and gets a yellow

73': Free kick from 35 yards out for Chesterfield is blasted towards the goal and hits the right post! Whew.

76': After minimal buildup, Sole sees an opening from 20 yards out and fires a shot at the goal. Its on target but saved.

83': Midfielder Warburton with a yellow 25 yards from the net... Pulis steps up to the free kick and blasts the ball off the wall and behind. Corner is completely wasted.

And that's the game. I debated a few times trying to turn on an attack or counter late, but we've been struggling to score and pressing a decent team on the road didn't seem the time to try to get out of our funk.

Chesterfield 0 : 0 Woking

Nikolaou is man of the match with a 7.4 rating in defense. Williams 7.2, Lynch 7.2, Thomas 7.0 in the back. Clapham made some good plays up front and earned a 7.3 rating but we couldn't do much with our few chances.

We shot 9 times, they shot 7 times. We each put 3 on target. 5 of our 9 shots were from long range. Watching the highlights it never felt like we seriously threatened while they had a couple very dangerous moments that we took care of.

-- Kevin Lynch made is 150th league appearance today. Not bad for a kid that just turned 22 last month.

We fall to 11th with our 4th straight 0:0 draw.
