Deep in a cavern of a volcano, I discover the fire gate. It's guarded by a large lava beast. A booming voice speaks a riddle that is hard to hear over the crackling of the lava flow.

With red tongues I lick and bite
Cutting darkness with my might
With intense pain you'll feel my wrath
Devouring all that's in my path
If a drink is what you give
One last breath I shall live

I'm to
1) Guess the answer to the riddle.
