Rosport 5-1 Alliance Äischdall
The combined impacts of injuries and international responsibilities left me with a different lineup, especially in the back. Billy Bernard and Christophe Pazos are away with the Luxembourg U21s, and we're short on midfielders. So we'll go to a 5-3-2 tonight.
How cool is it to get to play with a
libero?? Laurent Pellegrino can play there, so he'll assume our Franz Beckenbauer role.
GK: Oster
L: Pellegrino
D: Scholer, Heinz, Loose, Bettmer
M: Rakic, Wittek, Ferreira
ST: Bozic, Schiltz
Another quick start, and this time the goals kept coming against a club that is still looking for its first win.
Schiltz located an unmarked Andy Rakic for our first goal. Anton Bozic calmly scooted between their centre backs and knocked in a pass from Schiltz for the second. Wittek put Schiltz through for the third, and Laurent completed his brace off another inch-perfect pass from Carlos Ferreira.
After the half, we conceded our first goal of the league season, and it was a very impressive one--a nice header from their captain, Kim Thomé. Ferreira answered back with his first Rosport goal, a laser shot from 22 yards that went in off the keeper's hand on 76 minutes.
Alphonse Leweck came on as a substitute at 70', his first appearance since returning to training after his neck injury.
And--maybe the best of all--nobody got hurt!
