Swim with Dad - @ GaTech – RESULTS
------------------------------------------------------------

Bear

100 Brst - 1:52.82 – Also a big drop for Bear here…1:42.02

200 Back - 3:14.17 – 17 second drop…2:56.85 - Dive was way too deep. Could get another second of 2 with a better angle on the start

50 Free - 35.66 – Pretty good improvement here…but his dive was too deep again. If his underwater work wasn’t so strong it would kill his time. 33.32.

400 IM - 6:06.35 5:51.08…was racing MK…they were neck and neck the entire way…and all the kids were cheering them on, as they had bets on who would win. Bear had a slight lead in fly, opened it some in back (which was surprising given MK’s back)…he lost the lead by about half a body in breast, but in the free, his ability at distance swimming and stamina took over and he beat her by about a second. Brett bet against Bear and lost…in case you were wondering.

100 Free - 1:11.43 – only a slight drop 1:11.09

100 Back - 1:25.57 – again a slight drop 1:24.79

50 Bfly - 42.69 – Dropped 4 seconds here. Still breathing too much (or at least lifting his head to high through the stroke)…I think there are a couple more seconds once he gets the stroke ironed out a bit more. 38.65

800 Free - 10:42.77 – Right before Bear’s swim, Riley (one of the gang) was playing around and he hit Bear right on the nose with a water bottle. It is bruised pretty bad…and Bear was hurting a bit. However, he went into this wanting to swim splits under 1:20…Because the race had 2 people in a lane in order to finish quicker…I don’t have his splits, but I can tell you from doing my math, that he was only above the 1:20 range on the second split. Then he really picked it up, and he churned out a race with a final time of 10:22.19. This is a AAA time, and qualifies him for the All-Star banquet (whenever it will be held again)…
