This is our busy weekend, where we will swim a year round meet on Friday and Sunday and the Summer League County Championship on Saturday. The information below is for the year round meet…I’ll create a separate thread for the county championship.

This is a prelim/final meet...and the twins look like they will be making finals in several events. Brett may make finals in the breaststrokes...

Brett

# 2 Male 13-14 200 Free 2:37.73L - I found an article that went into the science of the flutter kick, which seemed to resonate with Brett. He has been working pretty hard to correct some fundamental mistakes, so I'm very interested to see how he does in his freestyle events.
# 10 Male 13-14 100 Breast 1:30.09L - He made a change this week to his breast, he's really staying a lot lower in the water. He thinks he is much faster, and the coach seems to like it.
# 28 Male 13-14 400 Medley 6:11.31L - With improved fly and free, he could drop a bunch of time, especially, if he will limit breathing during the fly.
# 78 Male 13-14 200 Medley 3:01.33L - See 400 IM above
# 96 Male 13-14 200 Back 3:02.76L - I expect similar results here...no real changes in the back.
# 108 Male 13-14 800 Free 11:05.60L - see 200 Free

Brett’s best change to get a state cut is in the 200 Breast, which is being offered on Saturday. Unfortunately, the year round meet and the county championship are at the same time, so Brett won’t be able to do both. He has elected to swim the year round meet, (which is the right decision) so we will be deck entering him and having to divide the family to get to both place. Not sure who’s going were right now…

Bailey

# 7 Woman 11-12 200 Medley 2:52.11L
# 23 Woman 11-12 50 Back 40.67L
# 83 Woman 11-12 50 Fly 34.31L
# 111 Woman 11-12 400 Free 5:50.33L
- This is the one event that she really needs to improve. Got to get that Free more effective...she sounds like she's ready to work a bit harder on these mid distance swims now...

Ok, you are probably wondering why Bailey only has 4 events…well, the coach messed up and entered Bailey in both the 50 and 200 backs and flys…which isn’t allowed, it is an either/or situation. So we’ll have to scratch 2 events. Because Bailey has her cuts in both the 200s and she doesn’t have her cuts in the 50s it is a pretty easy choice. We’ll deck enter her in some other events…probably a breast and maybe the 800 Free…

Bear

# 8 Male 11-12 200 Medley 2:59.36L - Needs to keep head down on fly legs...if he does he'll drop time
# 16 Male 11-12 100 Free 1:11.09L - Feels he can go under 1:10
# 26 Male 11-12 200 Back 2:56.85L - Needs to shallow out start and turns a bit. He's strong underwater, but he's too deep and he loses momentum
# 82 Male 11-12 200 Fly 3:08.69L - See the 200 IM
# 102 Male 11-12 200 Breast 3:59.95L
# 112 Male 11-12 400 Free 5:13.66L - I don't think he's done this in a while, and his most recent drop in the 800 tells me he should be able to drop a good bit of time here...
