-- Constantino is named in the Championship team of the week this week.

September 26th, 2017

Hull(6-0-2, 2nd) Ipswich(5-2-1, 3rd)

We're favored today over the #2 team at home. We're 4-7-3 against them lifetime, lots of ties! We promoted to the EPL the same year and fell back down together. Hull finished 3rd last year.

GK: Murphy
D: Kirkland/Brown/Gudmundsson/Berthet
DMC: Paulo
MC: Donnelly/Bennett
AMC: Gordon
ST: Khan/Constantino

Hull are led by Odion Ighalo with 4 goals, Federico Cacciapuoti has 3 goals. We've got Constantino with 4 goals and Khan has 3. We start Gudmundsson over Troy Brown today. The rest of our default starters are in today. We try a standard mindset today. Hull worries me I'm not sure if we want to go crazy attacking today.

9': We earn a corner. Donnelly sends it to Bruce, he turns by a man and shoots... there's not a lot of pace on that shot at all, but it deflects off a defender and the keeper can't react! It seems like its in slow motion but it's in the net between the keeper and the defender on the line! 1-0

11': We have some buildup, Kahn receives a pass 20 yards out and fires a strong shot, the keeper has to dive to save it and turns it behind for a corner. Corner comes to nothing.

32': Donnelly sends a ball out wide for Constantino, he makes a good pass to Gordon in the area, Gordon shoots but can't put it on target.

35': We have a counter attack going after winning a ball in the defensive end. Gordon has it in midfield and the defensive line just isn't set up well to defend. Khan is able to find a huge hole in teh defensive line, Gordon sends it up ahead of him and Khan is easily first to run onto the ball, he shoots from 20 yards out as the keeper is trying to close down and puts it by the keeper and into the net!! 2-0

HALF: No action after that. We're crushing it today, 10 shots, 3 on target and the 2 goal lead. Hull only has 4 shots, 2 on target. We've got a 56/44 possession edge, we haven't completed a single cross yet, most of our success has been up the middle though. Otherwise stats are even/in our favor. We're going to defend this half to try to just close it out.

60': We've got a free kick just on our offensive side of the field. Donnelly plays it into the area, Gudmundsson gets his head to it but the keeper is there to make the save.

66': They get forward and after some buildup there's a nice cut to the goal by one of their forwards, he's got a clear cut chance and Murphy can't do anything about it... but he misses, putting it into the side netting.

That's it, we kill off the final 25 minutes with complete ease and we're feeling pretty damn invincible.

Ipswich 2 : 0 Hull

Man of the Match: Matthew Khan (8.3)
Goals: Khan, Bruce (7.9)
Assists: Donnelly (7.2), Gordon (6.9)
Notables: Berthet (7.2), Kirkland (7.7), Gudmundsson (7.2), Paulo (7.3)

-- I hate to jinx it but Brian Murphy hasn't given up a goal for 605 in game minutes. That's 5 straight league shutouts.

-- After that win we move up to 2nd place behind QPR.

-- 6 straight shutouts is an Ipswich record
