***I hadn't realized until I added it up how poor Victory's overall record was at this point in his career. I'm really surprised the game didn't fire him from Alabama after four seasons, but for some reason the Tide kept him on. Can a guy with five 20-loss seasons in 10 years really turn out to be a legend? Stay tuned... (I've still got to look up the NCT and ACT winners from 2007 - that's bugging me)


****For those reading this "re-run" (all two of you), is the pace OK? I've got something of a sequel planned that I'm eager to start, so I'm kind of blitzing through posts. I might even start the sequel before I finish this, and provide a Reader's Digest version of Victory's history somewhere in it, so folks don't have to sort through the whole story.

Anyways, feedback is welcome if folks are enjoying/not enjoying this one. I had fun the first time and am enjoying re-reading it as I repost it...
