As a note, psykers abilities aren't limited to items just as being psychic and communicating. There are alot of different abilities that can be done by a psyker depending on what they are. For example, Chaos psykers could summon demons while other races just may use their abilities for a defensives nature. Essentially, psykers are magic users (in a way).
