Unfortunately I didn't think it through before voting today. We still would have a slim chance if that were the case (if we didn't hit on the brutal).
I apologize for my kneejerk reaction.
Obviously the wolves also didn't realize that rule either or they would have taken out a villager for the win last night. Looking at it that way I would rather it end this way instead of with us making a miraculous comeback after last night as it's not like we understood the rule and they didn't. Since we both misunderstood the rule it ends up being a wash with how the game ended.
