OK, preseason in the bag. A few notes:
-We signed a free agent QB mentor, intending to lock in the rookie at QB
-QB McDaniel obliged and bumped up 14 points - he's our guy (Henson -11)
-3rd round pick FB Austin made the switch to TE okay, looks 28/55 now
-1st round WR Lester looks like a decent WR2/3 guy... meh but okay
-2nd round T Brennan looks good, will start at RT or RG right away
-4th year free agent WR Lyons is going to get real targets this year
Nothing really noteworthy on defense. I'm missing the safety we let get away, but past that I think our group is solid, overall. Thin talent-wise at LB, but who cares.
Guessing our record... who knows? Rookie Qb boomed a bit, but he's likely due to throw 20+ interceptions and keep us from being truly effective. Maybe we're a 7-9 team with him at the helm? I think we're too talented overall to fall totally apart, so that sounds about right to me. Chance we're in the "lottery" zone of the top 5-8 picks... maybe 20%.
Let's see what they can do.
