2014 Georgia 14&Under Short Course Championships - Feb 21-23 @ GaTech
The short course state championships are this weekend and Bailey and Bear will be swimming the maximum 9 individual events. Due to the nature/magnitude of this meet, and the relative position of the twins, I'm going to try and be more specific in my writeups in order to help you get a better overall understanding of where things stand (which probably means I'll thoroughly confuse you). I haven't determine yet how I'll outline the information...but I'm thinking in addition to providing you the standard seed times, seed locations, I may also provide how close they are to moving up/down based on performance.
This event will be a prelim final meet for each individual age group (10U, 11, 12, 13, 14). So the twins will be swimming in 11/12 heats, but actually only racing 11 year olds. The shorter races (all 50s, 100s, and the 200 Free and 200 IM) will be raced prelims with the top 10 returning in the evening for finals. The remaining races will all be timed finals with the top 20 swimmers (A & B finals), regardless of age, swimming in the evening.
Each swimmer that finishes in the top 10 will earn points based on the following scale...11-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1, with medals awarded for a top 3 finish. Relays earn points based on the following...48-42-40-38-36-34-32-30-28-26--22-18-16-14-12-10-8-6-4-2. (I don't know yet if either of the twins will qualify for a relay...I doubt it, but we might sneek into one).
