USC demolished ND 48-19 at the Coliseum.

Our academics aren't good, but they aren't as ghastly as they have been in the past. 9 guys who are on the "worry" list. 3 starters - DE Phil Patten, WR Kato Thelwell, and CB Curry Thompson. There are a smattering of talented reserves to look at as well, along with a couple of no-talent bench-warmers.

HB Gannon Dawson suffered a broken foot. We know what a baby he is with injuries, so he won't play for a week or two (or five).

The defense really stepped up in the 2nd half of that game. Colorado finished with only 322 yards and 16 first downs. We outscored them 31-0 in the final 15 minutes. Wow, what an onslaught that was!

Colorado was only 1-8 on 3rd down.

Rattay is off to a good start on his Heisman bid. 29-40 for 397 yards. 4 TDs, 1 INT. He would prefer not to be sacked 6 times again anytime soon.

Morris looks like a guy who has grown up in a hurry. 26 carries for 175 yards and 1 TD.

Amazingly, not one receiver had 100 yards despite Rattay throwing for almost 400. Thelwell has 99 and Voight 96.

OG James McAddley had 5 pancakes on the day. Looks like he is taking over for Yale Givens in the pancake/KRB discrepancy department.

C Greg Knight allowed 3 sacks. We have a freshman who can do that - no need to start the senior if he can't do better than this. He has one game to improve.

FR ILB Bobby Anderson, welcome to the team. 7 tackles (all solos), 1 stuff, 1 hurry, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble, and a pass defended. Keep up the good work.
