I was worried with Matt Smith playing a character like Daemon. If he did his "Doctor Who Angry Face", I wouldn't be able to take the show, at least his parts, seriously. It took me several episodes of Breaking Bad to stop seeing Bryan Cranston as Hal from Malcolm in the Middle and start seeing him as Walter White. Same thing happening, he's done a great job so far.
As for the series overall, I have enjoyed it so far. The time skips and actor changes haven't bothered me. It's been a steady level of enjoyment for me.
