Celebration on the PAT's make more sense now that it pushes it to a 50 yard+ kick, but backing it up 15 yards might also give a chance at a return, at least in poorer weather conditions. I'm still waiting for a team on the flipside (with a kickoff from the 50) to actually go for an onside kick instead of just booting it through the endzone & letting the other team start on the 25. A 10% chance at a recovery would seem worth the 12-15 yard difference.

I've wondered why teams kicking off from the 50 don't train for kicking a sky-high kick that comes down around the 5. Seems more likely than not that that would result in the return team pinned inside its 25.
