I have to say in all fairness it's a lot easier for me. I'm not supporting a family and before the pandemic I made less than 20% above minimum wage. I wasn't an airplane pilot, to put it mildly.
Definitely encouraging alternative solutions for anyone who can find them, but on my side I've informed my former employer that I won't be coming back. For me it's ending up a straight upgrade in career. For others … that won't be so easy to come by.
