Okay, it's cutdown day. Preseason done, the last ratings moves are in, and it's pink slip time.
Biggest surprise, to me, is that CB Alexis Montano gets his walking papers. I signed him thinking he'd be our CB2 for a while. But he suffered a ratings slip last year - the league dimwit scout nothing him down from 43 to 38. He still played well for us - an 81.4 in-game PD% rating. This year, scout downgraded him to 28... as he was inactive during preseason (that seems to hurt a lot). So, he's gone, and we eat some bonus money as a result. Sucks.
So, we extend CB Slechta, as our CB1, and will rely on a rotation of guys underneath him, without a true CB2 for the foreseeable future. Don't love that, to be honest.
Rookies look disappointing, should have expected this. I just need to do better. Or do more trades of draft picks for cheap vets. I am not maximizing this asset, at all.
