Every discussion of this event I can find is about how the dialog was supposed to be there but got cut. There is also talk about the curse and how the captain can return to land once every 10 years to be with his love. Why would it have to be once every 10 years if the curse was lifted after the first time?

And the after credit scene was predictable with or without the dialog.
