Yeah, it just feels right. And another major piece of the rebuilding "commitment" will drop momentarily.
First... FA 1:3-4... we missed out on a couple guys, but life goes on:
LDT Darrell Haworth | FA Stage 4 | turned down a contract offer: 3yrs, $24,600,000. |
FS Dustin Swedberg | FA Stage 4 | turned down a contract offer: 4yrs, $52,000,000. |
K Thurman McWaters | FA Stage 5 | signed as an unrestricted free agent from Detroit: 3yrs, $16,080,000. |
FL Fernando Hampton | FA Stage 5 | signed as a free agent: 2yrs, $8,270,000. |
So, two run-stopping DTs have rebuffed my advances. Thing is, this is an easy position to fill with an adequate guy. So, I'm not panicked here. We could throw a 4th round pick at it, or maybe just skip it and cover up - I don't really care a lot about stopping the run in a no-gameplanning league.
Our signees here are a decent and affordable kicker (fine) and a nice strong-chem roster filler WR. Nothing to shout about, but both likely make the team unless we end up drafting a big kicker, which seems awfully unlikely.
