Group 27

Week 10

VCU- 85, Arkansas- 69
W. Kentucky- 84, UNC Greensboro- 72
SMU- 56, Columbia- 55

Unfortunately we have a 3 team tie breaker situation. To be fair, I have to use the tiebreaker system I have used for all the other groups (which now that I look back on it may not be the best tiebreaker to use), so we start with head to head.

SMU 3-1
Arkansas 2-2
W. Kentucky 1-3

This means W. Kentucky is eliminated. And since SMU swept Arkansas, our final standings look like this:

#1- VCU 10-0 (+106)
#2- SMU 5-5 (-22)
#3- Arkansas 5-5 (+1)
#4- W. Kentucky 5-5 (+44)
#5- UNC Greensboro 4-6 (-45)
#6- Columbia 1-9 (-84)

VCU wins the group with ease, and should be a top 15 seed, maybe top 10, depending on how many other teams finish group play undefeated. SMU with a 5-5 record and negative point differential sneaks into the tournament. Look for them to be see 128, which is the worst possible seed for group runner ups. Unfortunately, the tiebreaker drops Arkansas to third place, and the point differential isn't enough to keep them in the tournament. The Razorbacks are officially eliminated, and Georgia Tech stays alive for another group. Here are the wildcard standings:

N.C. Central 7-3 (+63)
Jacksonville St. 7-3 (+55)
E. Michigan 7-3 (+50)
Texas 7-3 (+27)
