Gun shy was an understatement in today’s two games, he basically gave himself no shot at the plate. A total 8u/9u performance wherein he basically wanted out of the box. I told him to tell the coaches before the games tomorrow whether or not they should actually put him in the line up because right now, if he can’t overcome the fear of getting hit right now, he needs to bench himself for the betterment of his friends and coaches. I even told him that he had a right to be scared based on the gun fire he experienced but if he’s hurting the team than that’s not fair to them. He has to decide if he is going to battle tomorrow and give himself a shot to help the team and if not; if he’s not ready then sit for tomorrow and be a cheer leader. We’ll see if he responds or if he needs more time and self maturity To overcome the hiccup. 🤦‍♂️ I told him that I hoped he was able to handle this quickly but that it was up to him as to how long he wanted to let it control him.
