Just announced, another FOFL trade…
Chesapeake sends its 2008 2nd round pick to South Carolina, in exchange for LB Gary Rosenbaum.
South Carolina is in a purge-rebuild phase, and we’re trying to take advantage once again. (CB Raab was the first step of this) Gary Rosenbaum is a 13th year veteran, but is a standout-caliber linebacker, who could be an impact player for us. This is adding strength to strength for us, but overall, it’s a bargain for us – Rosenbaum comes to us with a very affordable salary for three seasons, so he ought to be a great value.
What will this mean for our LB corps? I don’t know, but Rosenbaum can certainly play at DE or SLB very naturally, and even has the skills to man the middle, if need be. Having five very good linebackers is a luxury – we’ll work through it one way or another.
