Exhibition Game Three
We get another look at our second team, as we expect to seed in starters for our final preseason game. Here, QB Sherman Buckner cements a spot on the final roster, and our other young QB Derrick Sellers didn’t do a lot to help himself here.
FB Charles Emerson has been a tough call – a former first round pick, he is clearly overpaid. However, he is talented enough that I really don’t want to cut him outright. He got 10 carries here, and two touchdowns, and may well have secured a spot as a short-distance runner. We will probably carry three fullbacks this season, and two tight ends – a bigger investment at those two spots than I’d ordinarily envision, but that’s okay.
Alas, it appears that our file export didn’t register, as rookie CB Billy Joe Scanlon failed to make it onto the field much at all, and isn’t in the depth chart. Probably my mistake, though I seem to recall exporting and transferring the file. No great loss, but I did lose my chance to IR the now-healthy G Hugh Rumph, meaning he may not make the final roster after all.

We do not have a single injury on the entire roster, so nobody has a back door way to make the team by getting placed onto IR. I fully expect a challenging set of decisions after this last preseason game – and at the moment, if we end up carrying four QBs and three FBs, that will put the squeeze on some other places.
