Gossip News: Merchantmen Fooling Around, Again
The Maassluis Merchantmen management are starting to look like the Dutch national soccer team's coaching staff. Decissions are pushed back to be taken later and if they are taken, they are reconcidered after every little setback. Maybe it's part of being Dutch, but the Merchantmen players are getting worried.

Good thing, the Merchantmen defense has stepped up in two consecutive road games or else this would have been a complete disaster. But the issue remains, the Merchantmen have far from settled their quarterback controversy. One season, Justin McDavid is given the confidence for 13 consecutive lost games. The next they draft a quarterback in the first round. One day Justin McDavid blooms in the preseason, the next day Leonard Lyon is named started. The next week McDavid is starting because of a groin injury sidelining Lyon.

Fair enough, the Merchantmen had to draft a quarterback to make sure they can be taken serious. The call on Lyon starting from game one was unexpected, but made somewhat sense if the Merchantmen see him as their quarterback of the future. When Lyon went down, going back to McDavid was the only solution, but did make it another issue with McDavid having gone 2-0 as a starter.

But now, the stupidity is back, the Merchantmen announced to resolve the situation. People expected to see Lyon back, despite McDavid's fumble free performance on the road. Lyon's is almost recovered and could play with little chance on getting re-injured. Now, they push it back another game day.

Leonard Lyon will be having the game of the season against Tucker sitting on the bench. The weather forecasters expect a rainy day, making the ball slippery and fumble prone. With your rival being called Fumblin' Justin, there is no question he'll be starting next week. If not taking over mid-game.
