I set up my team's style and tendencies and then let them play, correct. I also set up coverage and double-teams on defense as well. Double-teams down low on dominant post players, tight coverage on straight-up jump shooters, and loose coverage on guys with an inconsistent jump shot but good speed.

As far as dribble penetration goes, you won't get a lot of it if you're facing a lot of zone defense (which you will see at the lower levels). Even against man-to-man defense, your guy will need a high speed rating in order to beat the defender to the whole. Brandon Callahan is the only guy I have who can get the occasional dribble-drive, and he has a speed of 85.

You can have more success with dribble-penetration and back-door cuts against a matchup zone defense. That sort of switching defense sometimes leaves players open off of the switch.

Hope this helps.
