Time: 14:50
Rating: 69/C+

Main Show

The intro video plays, the lights get bright, and the pyrotechnics explode as SWF Awesome Impact begins. The show starts with the camera focused on the announcers as they explain that earlier today Jack Bruce arrived at the arena not exactly in fighting shape. A video rolls of Bruce arriving at the arena on crutches and wearing a neck brace. The announcers speculate on the fate of tonight’s SWF World Heavyweight Championship match and all seem to agree that Jack Bruce does not look fit to fight Remo tonight.
Time: 3:37
Rating: 83/B+

Rich Money defeated Angry Gilmore by pinfall following the Bank Roll.
Time: 23:35
Rating: 89/A
Thoughts: As expected: A Classic.

The camera finds Hero Squad as they are preparing to breach suite 201. They agree that now is the time and Jungle Lord opens the door. Inside the room is dark as night. As the camera adjusts you can faintly make out the silhouette of Lobster Warrior tied to a chair. Captain Atomic and Jungle Lord slowly enter the room and begin to rescue Lobster Warrior by freeing him from the chair. Once both of them are firmly inside the room, the door slams shut and a hulking figure emerges from the darkness. The sound makes both members of Hero Squad turn around and forget about Lobby for a split second. The figure moves forward and light hits his face revealing that he is Tyson Baine. Captain Atomic demands that the villain release his captive. Baine laughs manically and says that there is no hostage in this room. Hero Squad slowly turn around to find that their “friend” was never really in any danger. As soon as Lobster Warrior comes into view he catches both members of Hero Squad with a double clothesline. Baine joins in as well and Lobster Warrior and Baine leave Hero Squad down in a heap in suite 201.
Time: 8:22
Rating: 72/B-
Notes: Baine debuted with a monster gimmick. It was rated 52. Workable. I really wanted better though. Lobster Warrior turned heel and it was a complete success.

Valiant defeated Kurt Laramee by pinfall with the V-Split
Time: 5:02
Rating: 62/C

Following the match Valiant celebrates with the crowd. He grabs a microphone and tells the fans that Valiant clearly knows how to fight and that he isn't going to rest until he is the SWF World Heavyweight Champion.
Time: 3:56
Rating: 73/B-

Jack Bruce enters Eric Eisen’s office. He tells Eisen that after the assault from Vengeance on Supreme TV that he isn’t medically cleared to fight tonight. He explains that he visited three different world renown physician’s this week, hoping one of them would be able to clear him, but that isn’t going to be the case. He says that it is probably for the better anyway, because he feels so bad that he knows he wouldn’t be anywhere near 100% for a title defense tonight. Bruce feels like he is letting his fans down, but thinks that Eisen is partially at fault for this whole thing. He says that Eisen needs to figure out a way to control Vengeance before someone’s career is ended. He says that Vengeance is a monster without remorse and that what he did to Bruce on Tuesday was way over the line.

Eisen sits and listens to the whole thing without offering a comment. When Bruce finishes Eisen replies that if Jack Bruce doesn’t defend the SWF World Heavyweight Championship tonight against Remo that he will be stripped of the title. Eisen tells Bruce that it seems he has a decision to make.
Time: 6:20
Rating: 89/A

The Amazing Bumfholes defeated The Awesomeness, Hero Squad, and Quadruple B in a four way tag team match for the SWF World Tag Team Championship when Randy Bumfhole pinned Brett Biggans following the Bumfhole Blaster. The Amazing Bumfholes are the NEW SWF World Tag Team Champions.
Time: 9:51
Rating: 66/C+
Notes: Randy Bumfhole's character is apparently stale.

He says that Sexy started something that he isn’t going to be able to finish. Des Davids says he’s entering and leaving the match with the SWF North American Championship and that he’s going to teach Joe Sexy some manners in the process. "This will be a humbling night for you, Joe Sexy."
Time: 6:05
Rating: 78/B

Squeeky McClean defeated Robbie Retro by pinfall with the Stain Removal.
Time: 3:25
Rating: 60/C

Christian Faith is in the back sitting in the locker room when Spencer Spade and an unknown worker appear. Spade introduces Faith to his friend Clark Alexander. Spade says that the two of them are good buddies and he wants to know if Faith will mentor Alexander as well. Faith looks at the newcomer, pauses, then looks at Spencer Spade. He accuses Spade of not taking this opportunity seriously and says that he saw something in HIM, otherwise he wouldn’t be here. He tells Alexander to run off, which he does and then talks to Spade. He tells him how much learning hands-on from a guy who has been everywhere and seen everything there is to see in professional wrestling can help a youngsters career. He says that not everybody gets an opportunity like this, infact, Spade is the only person Faith has ever offered to mentor. He says that he needs to get his head on straight and that “boot camp” starts on Tuesday.
Time: 5:59
Rating: 68/C+
Notes: Clark Alexander debuted and his gimmick (we will just call it “gimmick” for right now as I’m not prepared to reveal the actual name of it yet) is rated 72. Fairly happy with this rating as it is high enough not to penalize any segments.

Remo is in the back with a microphone in hand. He calls Jack Bruce a coward and says that Bruce isn’t man enough to come out tonight and face Remo. He says that if Bruce isn’t able to fight tonight that means that Remo doesn’t get his title shot. If Remo doesn't get his title shot....someone will pay. He reveals that someone to be Vengeance. Remo hopes Vengeance is in the building because he says that tonight either Jack Bruce or Vengeance will feel The Destroyer.
Time: 6:01
Rating: 84/B+

Time: 10:05
Rating: 65/C

Following the match, Dawn the Cheerleader grabs the North American Championship from the timekeepers area and starts to climb the stairs. Before she can get in the ring, Squeeky McClean runs out from the back and steals the title from her. He grabs the belt and quickly bolts to the back. Des Davids tends to Dawn who was knocked down in the process. After he realizes Dawn is going to be alright, Des gets a foul look on his face and gazes down the aisle.
Time: 3:43
Rating: 69/C+

Enforcer Roberts defeated American Machine by submission with the R.C.T.
Time: 5:53
Rating: 46/D

Following the bout, Enforcer Roberts isn’t finished with American Machine. He refuses to release the R.C.T. until American Machine completely passes out. After Machine goes completely out, Roberts fights his way through the sea of security personnel swarming the ring and makes his way to the back.
Time: 4:02
Rating: 60/C

The camera picks up Jack Bruce in the back! He has on his wrestling attire and is wearing the belt. It seems we have our answer. Jack Bruce will defend his title tonight.
Time: 0:46
Rating: 77/B

Brandon James is in the back with Emma Chase and the rest of The Chase Agency. James says he has been waiting for tonight for a long time. He finally gets to shut up that loud mouth Steve Frehley. James says that when he is finished with Frehley tonight that everyone in the Supreme Wrestling Federation will find out what happens when you cross The Chase Agency.
Time: 5:47
Rating: 87/B+

Steve Frehley defeated Brandon James by pinfall with the Frehley’s Comet after Rogue interfered in the match and accidentally hit Brandon James.
Time: 14:32
Rating: 74/B-
Thoughts: Ouch

Remo defeated Jack Bruce by pinfall with The Destroyer to win the SWF World Heavyweight Championship. Vengeance was on the prowl during the match, watching the action from the shadows.
Time: 10:07
Rating: 77/B
Thoughts: Kept it short. Match didn’t get dinged for psychology. Match got dinged for length. Seems the penalty for length is more severe than the penalty for lack of ring psychology.

Following the match Eric Eisen makes his way to the ring. He says that Remo is HIS champion. He says that tonight is the dawn of a new era for The Supreme Wrestling Federation, one where the fans can be proud of the man who represents the company. One where the SWF World Heavyweight Championship means something. He says that Remo is the man to usher in this new era.

Vengeance takes all of this in from the top of the entrance ramp. He watches but does not strike.
Time: 6:11
Rating: 90/A

Final Rating: 85/B+
Buy Rate: 3.42

*No explantion for the slipping buy rate. This is down massively despite our popularity being at an all time high and the wrestling business in the US being on an upswing.
Thoughts: Angles carried this show much more than the matches did. The show started out with a MOTY candidate in Gilmore vs. Money and couldn’t ever live back up to that as far as action. I knew that would be the top match on the show, that is why I choose to lead with it. I could have ended the show with that match and ended up with a far better show rating, but that would almost feel like cheating. That wasn’t a well-built storyline and the main draws of this show were the Frehley-James and Bruce-Remo-Vengeance from a storyline perspective. The show had to end with those two.

I would describe this show as a building show. Not so much as a building show from the company perspective…but from an overness of workers perspective this show was a homerun. Brandon James is up to 85 across the US…an increase even in defeat. Frehley jumped from 78 to 85 across the US with his victory. With the victory over Bruce, Remo is a true superstar rated A+ (97) in overness across the US, Canada, and Mexico. This is the match that made Remo. Prior to tonight he was solidly our #2 wrestler and #1 heel, but he was rated from 87-90 in overness across our coverage areas. He needed this victory. This victory made Remo an icon in terms of popularity.

How hard did this loss impact Bruce? Not at all. He’s down from a couple 100’s, mostly 98’s and a few 97s across our coverage area to a few 99’s and mostly 97s. It will take him a week…maybe two to rebound his popularity. Vengeance and Eric Eisen are now both “A” rated in popularity. I fear Vengeance is soft capped at 85 though, he always falls back off. This will be true test as he jumped up to 89's and 90's following this show. If he falls back to 85....that would be 100% confirmation of his ceiling. Des Davids also greatly benefited from his victory over Joe Sexy tonight increasing from a 68 across the US to a 71. He's a rising star.

Not all was great. Angry Gilmore is down nearly 10 points from his peak of 84 about a month ago. I’ve been fighting a losing battle with this guy. He’s soft capped in overness and was hemorrhaging a point or two a week. I wanted to make him a MAJOR player…but it just isn’t going to happen. He’s a solid 75 right now and likely a fixture in the upper midcard. It just won’t be possible to push him up to the main event unfortunately.
