Was the Poli kill a wolf initiated event? The answer may be key. If it was a wolf triggered event than we can probably rule out conversion. If it was not, we cannot rule out conversion and should probably expect it at this point.

My take on it is the train event caused a random death in the firefight. I don't think Poli's death was actually initiated by anyone.
