We had our Summer Team end of the year banquet last night...and the kids had a good time...
Our team hands out quite a few awards during the event. We have...
- 2 MVPs per age group - 1 for year round swimmers, and 1 for non-year rounders
- Most improved for every age group
- 2 coaches choices for the entire team
As expected Brett got the year round MVP for the 11/12 boys age group...
Surprisingly Bear got the year round MVP for 9/10 boys. This was a surprise because I felt Riley was going to win this award (and actually Riley did out-point Bear during the season), but the team gave Riley the Non-year round MVP. In my opinion this was wrong. Riley was a year round swimmer until Christmas time, so to call him a non-year rounder was a bit of a stretch. Honestly, Riley should have gotten the year round award and some other kid would have earned the non-year round medal, but Bear was happy...
Bailey lost out on the year round award to Reese when we expected...
