1965 Offseason:
Staff:
We once again shift OC. The next one to get the best out of the Mad Bomber is Amari Hett
Trade offer
Once again I get an offer for Lemonica. I reject. Pathers offered the 26th pick. I hope I before next season can get at least a top-20 pick.
Free Agency
I target the following free agents:
C John Morrow - signed
G Dale Memmelaar - signed
NT Floyd Peters - Signs with DEN
ILB Dave Lloyd - Signed
ILB Marion Rushing - Signed
S Perry Janis - Signed
Draft
At the top of the draft boards sit Dick Butkus, Gale Sayers and Joe Namath. Through the free agency we've set ourselves in a good position to draft best available. We could use help at WR. The draft is packed with Tackles. We're at 19th.
With the 6th overall selection the New York Jets select... Broadway Joe... :-)
At 19th we have two options:
WR Fred Biletnikoff
OLB Chris Hanburger
Both seemingly good players however Hanburger fits the Steelers bill. We select him with our pick
In the 2nd round we select G Jim Harvey
3rd - Dick Gordon, WR
4th - Jim Hudson, S
5th - Dave Simmonds, ILB
6th - Dave Pivec, TE
7th - Whit Canale, DE
