High School Swimming

The South High School swim team started practice on Monday, and because Gold canceled practice following the weekend meet, Brett was able to get 1 of his 5 mandatory attendance practices in.

The funny thing was that he started swimming with the team at the pool, and the coach came over to him and asked if he had turned in his forms, to which he replied yes. They asked him his name and looked through their records and didn’t find his sign up sheet, so they asked him again, and he said he had turned it into Coach Spurlock. They told him that Coach Spurlock was the South coach and that he was currently swimming with the North team. So my son practiced with the wrong team initially. Fortunately for him, he was the fourth person that morning to make that mistake.

Brett attended the dry-land practice Tuesday morning as well, so he only needs to go 3 more times to meet the team requirement, and following this weekend’s Gold Meet, his chances of getting the 2 team cuts to earn his varsity letter are looking better and better.

First high school meet will be 11/8.
