In May he was voted the Rookie of the Month Award.
During the month he hit .360 with 7 doubles, no triples and 7 home runs.
Somers also scored 21 times and drove in 24 runs.

Somers has hit at a .310 clip with 29 RBIs, 7 home runs and 35 runs scored.

Alfonso Fernández just sewed up the Rookie of the Month trophy for May.
Over the past month the 25-year-old center fielder for
Hammersmith hit .314 with 37 hits, 6 home runs and 20 RBI. He also logged 3 walks and compiled a .339 on-base percentage.
So far this season,
Fernández has recorded a .293 batting average with 67 hits, 16 home runs, 48 RBIs, 43 runs scored and a .329 OBP.
