On another note, I was glad to see the scene in the dungeon with the dragon skulls. I recently re-read the passage while going through my re-read of the books and couldn't remember who was with Varys.
The scene with Theon felt pretty out of place.

Niether is named, and Varys is disguised as a soldier with a scar on his face. You have to guess his identity, and the person he is talking to (though the book discription makes it easy to guess). The show leaves no doubt (nor where Varys real loyalties lie).
