High School Meet - Trojan Open - RESULTS

The Fraces Meadows pool is only a short course pool, so it lacks the extra lanes that a long course pool has for warm up / cool down. This was a major factor at this meet, as all the kids (not just mine and our team, but kids we know from other teams as well) complained about being unable to get their laps in to cool down and loosen up after a race.

Bailey

#17 Girls Open 100 Fly - 1:04.91 - This race took place about 2 hours after the initial warm up, which was also woefully short. She wanted to warm back up before racing but there wasn't room. Still managed to finish third and post a 1:04.86

#21 Girls Open 100 Free - 1:00.33 - Got sub60 for the first time ever...59.91, needs to drop another second to get a state cut for high school.

Bear

#7 Boys Open 200 Medley - 2:08.82 - was really unhappy with this swim. Liked his fly leg better than Friday's at the year round meet, but overall this swim was just a bit off - 2:11.30, but it was good enough for a state cut.

#23 Boys Open 500 Free - 5:03.10 - tried to keep up with one of the best swimmers in the state, wore himself out early, but still finished second - 5:04.03

#25 Boys Open 200 Free Relay A - 1:36.59 - for some reason the coach had one really poor swimmer in this relay and it force the team to settle for second place. Bear managed a 25.5 split, which isn't really good, but after the quick turnaround it's not bad.

#37 Boys Open 400 Free Relay A - 3:41.04 - This one was a better put together team, and they won the event. Bear swam a 52.05 leg. Overall the team managed a 3:26.46 a huge drop over the seed time.
