Carbonneau Joins Sabres as Bosela's Right Hand Man

September 6 2005 (Buffalo News) -
Buffalo Sabres General Manager Matthew Bosela announced Tuesday evening that former NHL star Guy Carbonneau has joined the team as Assistant General Manager. As per team policy, no contract details were announced.

"We're absolutely thrilled to have someone as talented and respected as Guy come on board with the Sabres", Bosela proclaimed. "He has a keen understanding of what we're looking to accomplish here in Buffalo and his ability to evaluate personnel will be well utilized. I look forward to working closely with Guy in achieving our ultimate goal of bringing a Cup to the Queen City."

Carbonneau played for 18 years in the NHL, winning three Stanley Cups during his career, including one with the Dallas Stars in 1999 when his club defeated Buffalo in six games. A former Selke Award winner for Best Defensive Forward, Carbonneau played with the Montreal Canadiens and the St. Louis Blues before finishing his career in Dallas in 2000. He accumulated 663 points (260g 403a) in 1318 NHL games.
