Dylan Hunter Turning Heads in Camp
Buffalo News
September 15 2005 (Buffalo, NY) -
While training camp linemate Marek Zagrapan seems to be getting all the press, 2004 ninth round pick Dylan Hunter is going about his business and impressing everyone who comes into contact with him.
"Here's a kid that comes into junior hockey with the burden of being the son of an all-time great NHL'er", Ruff notes, speaking of former super-pest Dale Hunter. "Not only that, but most think he only makes the team because his dad is the coach."
"So what does he do? Prove his detractors wrong with a 104 point performance. We're thrilled that he's in our organization and he's on his way to eventually becoming a part of this team."
Hunter is the team leader in points in the three intra-squad scrimmages with seven (3g 4a). He had the exact same numbers in the Prospect Cup.
"This kid isn't here to just impress us", Ruff enthused, "he's here to make the team outright. And I love that about him."
Hunter will be in the lineup tonight as the Sabres take on the Edmonton Oilers down at HSBC Arena.
