Prospect Update: Zagrapan QMJHL Player of the Week; Hunter and Dennis Released by Knights

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League named Sabres prospect Marek Zagrapan as its first player of the week after he put up five goals and one assist in only two games last week.
In much more upsetting news for Sabres management, prospects Dylan Hunter and Adam Dennis were both given their outright release from the London Knights organization due to having too many overage players already on the team. While the move to release Dennis can be understood, Sabres GM Matt Bosela was stunned about Hunter getting cut, due to the fact his father is the owner and coach of the club.
"I'm extremely disappointed that Dale (Hunter) couldn't find room on his team for Dylan, who's not only his son but a phenomenal hockey player, a 100 point producer and he has been a great leader in that locker room over the past couple of years."
Bosela said he plans to wait a week or two to see if either player is picked up by another junior club. If this doesn't happen, he said Buffalo would attempt to sign both players to an entry-level deal and assign them to their affiliate in Rochester.
"Ideally, we'd like to see both of these players spend one more year in junior but we'll do whatever is necessary to ensure both kids get on the ice with a team soon."
