Semi Final against Chelsea

We open against Chelsea at home (they are first in the Premiership but end up 2nd to Man City). After a slow star, Skoda is taken down in the box after Gunaris whips in a free kick. Berka puts it in the left corner beyond the outstretched keeper--1-0 after 37 minutes. Early in the second half Ivo Koster, our other left back, gets sent off for a rash tackle (he's underwhelmed after we paid Ajax 24 million for him) We close up shop but can't get a second goal.

All to play for at Stamford Bridge. We change from our traditional 4-2-2-2 and line up in a 5-2-2-1. Bolte makes a stunning, world-class save from a point blank shot from six yards out that I thought was a sure goal. In the 42nd minute Gunaris takes a ball from a deflected Chelsea cross and feeds Santos who runs with the ball 40 yard down the right touchline and centers for Havlik to volley home. 1-0 and a crucial away goal. Chelsea strikes back almost immediately with a goal from distance. We have a couple of nervy moments (deflection off Sosa that hits the bar) but close things out. 2-1 on aggregate and on the final.

We will take on Monaco, the French Champions on an incredible 104 points. The final is conveniently held at Stade de France in Saint-Denis. Monaco has elite level attacking talent across the front line of their 4-2-3-1. They defeated Benfica, Athletico, and Bayern, the latter 4-0, to reach the final. We will be huge underdogs, but we've played so well we know we can make this happen. Monaco are a very good side, but they are not quite as good on paper as several other elite clubs (Man City, Chelsea, Real Madrid, at least). We can win this--but will we?
