I will have to fast sim these two Champions League games by the looks of it, as I can't edit the "computer" registered team (beyond one player) from when I took the one day holiday to keep moving the game forward.

OK!!
I found a work-around for this - I can "go on holiday" then once it starts processing, immediately click back on "return from holiday". That gets me past the registration screen but doesn't progress to the next day, giving me a chance to manage the game!
