(3) LSU v. (6) CAMBRIDGE

You would think LSU would be a powerhouse in our world, but they're actually not. In all of the years we've been doing this, the Tigers have advanced to the Final Four just once. This was one of the years they thought they might have a shot, after going 24-8 in the regular season, reeling off 18 of 20 at one point during the year.

They're led by the threesome of Avery Patch, Abby Schall and Allison Thompson who account for nearly 35 PPG for the squad. They rebound well, distribute the ball effectively and are well coached to boot, their HC Alayaah Stumpf has nearly 700 career wins.

Still, the Governors are the top scoring team in the nation, LSU gives up over 58 points per game and that might be the one advantage would could exploit to take them out.

Allison Peach was on fire and simply could not be stopped, almost outscoring LSU by herself, helping advance the Governors to the Sweet 16 for the second straight year.

In other action throughout the West Region:
1 seed Cal knocked off Duke 90-79
5 seed Northwestern ended Cinderella Charleston State's season 64-61
2 seed Drexel continued their push towards a return trip to the Elite 8 with a 63-48 drubbing of Stanford.

In upset news:
12 Princeton continued their run, beating Georgetown 60-47 to punch their ticket to the Sweet 16 for the first time in school history.

12 Morgan State did the same thing after a triumph over 4 Washington 79-73, the Lady Bears will take on UNC for a shot at the Elite 8.
