Group 25

Week 10

Providence- 70, N. Carolina- 61
Jacksonville St.- 67, UL Monroe- 45
Delaware St.- 62, Texas Tech- 52

Final Group 25 standings:

#1- N. Carolina 8-2 (+73)
#2- Providence 7-3 (+57)
#3- Jacksonville St. 7-3 (+55)
#4- Delaware St. 4-6 (-29)
#5- Texas Tech 2-8 (-59)
#6- UL Monroe 2-8 (-97)

So N. Carolina wins the group, but losing that last game to Providence will drop them down a few seeds. Providence clinches second via the fact that they swept Jacksonville St., and should be a middle of the pack seed. Jacksonville St. is in great position in the wildcard hunt, as only one team has a better standing than them right now. Unfortunately that means we say goodbye to Pacific, who is officially eliminated, leaving Georgia Tech as the last 5-5 team in the wildcard chase. The Yellow Jackets are next on the chopping block. Here are the wildcard standings through group 25:

N.C. Central 7-3 (+63)
Jacksonville St. 7-3 (+55)
E. Michigan 7-3 (+50)
Texas 7-3 (+27)
Iona 6-4 (+116)
Drexel 6-4 (+46)
Vermont 6-4 (+43)
#15 St. Louis 6-4 (+15)
N. Florida 6-4 (+9)
Austin Peay 6-4 (+6)
Vanderbilt 6-4 (+2)
Georgia Tech 5-5 (+19)
Pacific 5-5 (+14) ELIMINATED
High Point 5-5 (+8) ELIMINATED
Buffalo 5-5 (+4) ELIMINATED
W. Michigan 5-5 (+1) ELIMINATED
Arkansas St. 5-5 (-5) ELIMINATED
Delaware 5-5 (-7) ELIMINATED
St. Francis (NY) 5-5 (-8) ELIMINATED
Nebraska 5-5 (-9) ELIMINATED
TX Arlington 5-5 (-11) ELIMINATED
McNeese St. 5-5 (-11) ELIMINATED
Wagner 5-5 (-20) ELIMINATED
Howard 5-5 (-26) ELIMINATED
Winthrop 5-5 (-46) ELIMINATED

As we are through group 25 now, this does mean that the last of the ranked teams have played. If you recall, I decided to only rank the top 25 teams. Let's take a look and see how the ranked teams stand:

23 of the 25 ranked teams are safely in the round of 128.
1 of the other 2 teams is in the wildcard hunt and will be sweating it out for a while.
The other ranked team.. well they are going home, as they have been eliminated from the tournament.
