I cashed in on the Long War fairly quickly, it was almost too much at times. Played about 3 hours of WOTC yesterday, it seriously is like a whole new game and is a very good balance of hard/fun to me. Punishes you for mistakes, but not brutal for the sake of being brutal and you have to think.
Playing on Ironman and one of the new Advent classes
can potentially explode when hit. I imported all my soldiers from XCom 2 and had one of my "favorites" from that play through on one of the early missions. Not even thinking, I brought him out of cover to flank the last Advent op and scored a crit for the kill. Unfortunately I was too close and the resulting explosion blew up a nearby fuel tank, which in turn killed me, LOL.
