Summer League - CRC Time Trials
So here are the results from Friday...

Bear
In the boys 11/12 year old age group, 3 of the year round swimmers didn't compete at time trials, so Bear really had almost no competition. Also, it was very cold for a swim on Friday night (in the low 50s), so the team decided not to have warm ups. Combine that with the fact that Bear has been dealing with a sore shoulder and we told him just to take it easy. He won the Free, Back, and Fly by a lot. He got outtouched in the Breast, but wasn't really pushing it anyway...

Bailey
50 Free - 5th - this was disappointing because she's currently outside of the A relay, and with Summer League she may not get another chance to drop time in that event.
50 Back - 2nd - a good swim, as she was well ahead of third place.
50 Breast - 5th - this was disappointing only in the fact she was beaten by an 11 year old from a later heat. She didn't have her best swim here.
50 Fly - 2nd - she was disappointed she didn't win this one, but she was close enough to winning that she should be the Flyer on the A relay (as the girl that beat her also beat her in Back and should swim that stroke on the relay).
Note: Bailey's results were very interesting. She was disappointed in her Freestyle and Fly as she was hoping to do better in both...but that isn't what was interesting. What was interesting was the girls that beat Bailey in the Free and the one in the Fly all had their time Swim Atlanta trials on Saturday...and they all swam 100 Meter events in all 4 strokes. Every single one of there times were slower than Bailey's time trial times from a couple weeks ago. In fact, they were several seconds slower. Obviously, those girls must be doing much more sprint practicing if they are beating Bailey in a 50 Yard race, but would lose by several seconds in a 100 Meter race of the same stroke.
