POST-SEASON
Kappen was all defense 1st team. Fulks was 1st team all NBA and MVP. As you can see in the above post, Fulks led the league in scoring, setting a record that may never be broken. Offensively, we were the best team in the league, but one of the worst defensively.

1st round against the Toronto Huskies. We went 4-6 against them during the season. Game 1 win 125-115 behind 52 points and 12 rebounds from Fulks. Morganthaler injured his hip and is forced to miss game 2. That hurt us, as we lost game 2 121-108. Morgenthaler is available for game 3, but not starting. Fulks goes off for 67 points in a 135-121 win. Fulks doesn’t slow down in game 4, scoring 66 in a 140-116 win, clinching the series.

On to Boston for the conference championship against the Celtics. We went 4-6 against them during the season. Fulks continues to be unstoppable scoring 70 in a 126-116 win. Morgenthaler returns to the starting lineup for game 2, but it still results in a 132-124 loss. Fulks is held to only 48, but more balanced scoring from the rest of the team gives a 130-118 win in game 3. A strong defensive effort highlighted by a 30 rebound game from Morgenthaler gives a 133-94 win. Fulks scores 60 in game 5 in Boston, but it isn’t enough to prevent a 136-126 loss. Fulks continues to dominate, scoring 72 in a series clinching 136-121 win.

The first ever NBA championship will be against the Cleveland Rebels. They were the #2 seed from the west, but only went 30-30 on the season, with us going 2-0 against them. For the first time in the playoffs, Fulks wasn’t the high scorer in the game. That honor went to Cleveland’s star Ed Sadowski, but his 44 point, 22 rebound performance wasn’t enough as the Knicks won 138-125. Fulks was back to his old self, scoring 60 in a 127-109 win in game 2. Cleveland made a late run in game 3, stealing a 131-129 victory. Defense was optional in game 4, as we won 143-132. This is a 2-3-2 format, so game 5 remains in Cleveland. Fulks clinched the series in a nail biter, 124-123. Fulks won playoff MVP, and we're already halfway to the real life 2 championships by the Knicks.

I think we are going to be setup well for next season. All of our significant players are signed through next season, and the upcoming draft looks weak. Only one player (Red Rocha) looks to be a difference maker, so I don't expect any of the lesser teams to jump up and improve greatly.
