North America Amateur Cup - Fourth Round

We're down to 16 teams here, as we hope to make deep runs in both the Atlantic Coast Cup and this Amateur Cup this season. We're going to have to play on the road in the next round, against Montgomery County of the All American Amateur League, same tier as us.

That match will be on the 31st, we've got two league matches between now and then.

August 20th, 2016

Port St. Lucie Galleons (7-6-7, 10th) vs Wake Forest Cougars (11-6-3, 1st)

Attendance: 528

-- We are slim 5:4 favorites here. Our first match earlier in the season was a draw.

Starting Lineup

GK: Gyan
D: Campbell/Burke/Forrest/Jackson
M: Tapia/Shakespeare
AM: Davidson/Arredondo
ST: Ratzburg/Cole

We'll counterattack, its working. I go ahead with the "exploit the left flank" instruction out of the gate.

1': They attack immeidately, building up quickly, a cross comes in from the left to the far post, they have two men there competing to head it in, one guy gets it, easy goal. 0-1

17': We get a shot off a corner, saved easily.

29': We have a throwin in their end, Davidson gets a shot from a tough angle, but saved.

30': We're going to attack the rest of the half.

43': Ratzburg hits Cole who has a clear cut chance at the edge of the box, he can't beat the keeper, saved.

46': They get a quick counter after a bad pass by Arredondo, there's a long ball to ST Johnson he's well behind our defense and has a very easy goal. 0-2

HALF: Awful game for us so far. I tell the team I think they're playing like shit and we will continue trying to attack.

58': Davidson is out near midfield, plays a long ball into the area for Cole, he has a good look, keeper rushed out though to cut off his angles, and its saved.

71': Well this is over. A cross in from the left, easy header, easy goal for them. Just not our day. 0-3

73': They do the exact same thing, run down the left, cross, header. 0-4

73': Goodwin in for Cole, Rose and Cooper in for Davidson and Arredondo, both are still struggling with fitness after countless injuries.

That'll do it. Lets get the hell out of here and forget this happened.

Port St Lucia 4 : 0 Wake Forest

Its really hard to play when you give up a goal 30 seconds into a match, but boy did we fail everywhere here.

5.6 Forrest, 5.9 Burke, 5.6 Campbell. Cole with one of his worst games at 6.1.

They actually only managed to shoot 5 times, and only 1 was a clear cut chance, but they converted everything.

Maunabo and Lexington have a game in hand, a Maunabo win would bring them to within 1 point of us. Valdosta lost again though so that helps us.
