Georgia Revolution (0-0-1, 13th) vs Wake Forest Cougars (0-0-1, 16th)

Attendance - 519

-- First meeting. Georgia was in the tier above us initially, but relegated down here. They finished 3rd last year but couldn't advance in the playoffs. They are even money favorites to win today.

Starting Lineup

AM: C Maurer/Fisher
ST: M Maurer/Cole

Arturo Flores, Chris Maurer both are guys who are 3rd on the depth chart but get a start today as we still try to get everyone fit a bit later than we'd like. Two Maurer's in today.

We look to counterattack.

13': Throwin in their end, its cleared but we regain control, Wilkins slips a pass in for Cole who has a great look from the edge of the box, but its wide.

16': Wilkins with a long pass from within our own end, great pinpoint look for Cole, he has his second clear cut chance in 3 minutes, this one is saved, a good diving stop for the keeper. Corner is cleared.

41': Cole with a pass ahead to Maurer after we win a ball in midfield, a defender stops Maurer, he's considered to have stopped a free run at the goal, and that's a straight red card! We're up a man in the second half.

HALF: Each team with 4 shots, we actually have a huge lead in possession somehow, 59/41. Georgia is passing very poorly. We haven't seen a ton of chances but we did get a few nice passes to generate a few things.

46': A pass down the right from Cole to Fisher gets us a corner right after kickoff, we can't do anything with it though.

69': Fisher with a run down the right, he cuts towards the area, the ball is tackled free, but Fisher gets back to it, in the area, and he's brought down, penalty! Wilkins will take it, he hits ti right at the keeper and its saved. Nooooo.

70': Ratzburg in for Cole, Forrest in for Pickering.

72': Goal kick for Georgia, Tapia wins the header and heads it forward to Ratzburg, the defense is a bit out of position, Ratzburg is going to get a really good look, he shoots from just outside the area, and its saved. That was our 4th clear cut chance. Corner is awful.

73': Lets attack a man up. Maybe a mistake but I feel like we have them on the ropes.

81': Free kick from the right side, its cleared but we control, after some passing Ratzburg finds Mike Maurer in the area, our 5th clear cut chance... off the post. That was awful awful awful.

82': A poor throw by the goalkeeper gives it to us again in a dangerous spot, Fisher finds Ratzburg but his shot is wide.

92': Hernandez with a yellow for diving on a corner taken by Fisher.

No luck.

So the good news is we got a draw on the road vs a team that's probably a lot better than us. The bad news is that given the way it played out we really should have won this 3-0 or more.

Cole was having a rough day, 6.2 rating when I pulled him.

Flores with a very solid 7.0 in his first outing. We end up outshooting them 14-6 and pushed them really hard with the man advantage in the 2nd half, too bad.
