the only problem is that Walt used Lily of the Valley and the official diagnosis was Brock wasn't poisoned by ricin. Not a big issue in the show for me, but seemed to be randomly thrown in there to keep Jesse in the picture and upset.

Jesse now knows that Walt has been manipulating him every step of the way and I believe assuming the worst in Walt at every turn. So when he realizes that Huell lifted the pot off him, it triggers the memory of bumping into Huell right before his pack of cigs with the Ricin disappeared. Until the very end of Brock's hospital stay, Jesse was convinced that Brock was poisoned by Ricin. When Jesse was convinced it was Ricin back in season 4, Walt manipulated the fuck out of Jesse to get Jesse away from Gus/Mike and back on Walt's side to get Jesse's help killing Gus.

Looking back on all these events with the newfound understanding that Walt has been manipulating Jesse for his own gain every step of the way, Jesse figures out what happened, or at least pieces it together strongly enough to confront Saul about it.

Whether or not the viewer buys all of this as a reasonable thing for Jesse to figure out in this manner is up to us, but I'm pretty sure that's the thought process.

I think I'm basically giving a lot of credit to a strong feeling of deja vu in that moment for Jesse in buying into the way it was shown, but as I said I'm open to the idea that I drank the Vince Gilligan kool-aid long ago and will buy anything now. And I'm sure you're right that Gilligan will talk through it when asked.


Anyway, freaking spectacular episode, after the amazing moment with the video, I assumed things were just winding down and moving pieces around for the last bit, boy was I wrong.
